About the Original PDF Viewer

The Original PDF Viewer provides access to source PDF documents that are linked to your current content in the Document Editor or Text-to-Speech Reader. This viewer opens when you press Alt + O if the document you're working with is associated with an original PDF file. The viewer maintains synchronization with your current position, automatically jumping to the corresponding page in the PDF when opened.

Opening the Original PDF Viewer

From Document Editor or Text-to-Speech Reader

  • Alt + O: Open the original PDF viewer

The viewer automatically navigates to the page that corresponds to your current position in the editor or the sentence being read in the text-to-speech system.

Display and Navigation

Status Bar Information

The bottom status bar provides comprehensive document information:

  • Current Page Number: Displays current page and total pages (e.g., "5 / 23")
  • Progress Bar: Visual indicator showing current position relative to total document length
  • Zoom Factor: Current zoom level percentage (e.g., "Zoom: 125%")

Keyboard Controls: - Page Down: Move to next page - Page Up: Move to previous page
- Ctrl + Home: Jump to first page - Ctrl + End: Jump to last page - Alt + G: Open "Go to Page" dialog for direct page entry

Go to Page Dialog: - Enter any page number within the document range - Press Enter or click OK to navigate to that page

Zoom and Display Controls

Zoom Keyboard Shortcuts: - Ctrl + Plus: Zoom in (increase magnification) - Ctrl + Minus: Zoom out (decrease magnification) - Ctrl + 0: Reset zoom to 100% - Ctrl + Mouse Wheel: Dynamic zoom control

Status Bar Zoom Controls: - + Button: Increase zoom factor - - Button: Decrease zoom factor

The zoom factor ranges from 20% to 500% and updates the status bar display in real-time.

Integration Features

Text-to-Speech Integration

When opened from the Text-to-Speech Reader:

  • Alt + S: Start text-to-speech reading from the top of the current PDF page

This feature enables you to have the content of the current PDF page read aloud while viewing the visual layout.

Window Management

  • Escape: Close the PDF viewer window
  • The viewer can remain open while you continue working in other application windows
  • Multiple access via Alt + O will bring the existing viewer to the front and update the page position

File Requirements

The Original PDF Viewer requires: - An active document in the Document Editor or Text-to-Speech Reader - A linked original PDF file associated with the current document - If no original PDF is available, the system will display an informational message

The viewer maintains the connection between your edited content and the source material, enabling seamless reference and review workflows.
