Main Dictation settings

Engine Selection

The Dictation Settings page allows you to choose between two speech recognition engines: Vosk and Faster Whisper.

Selecting an Engine

  • Click on either Vosk or Faster Whisper to select it as your active dictation engine
  • A checkmark will appear next to your selected engine
  • When you switch engines, Assistivox AI will use the last model you selected for that engine

Pre-installed Models

Vosk comes pre-installed with the Small Model, so you can start using dictation immediately after selecting Vosk.

Faster Whisper requires you to download at least one model before you can use it for dictation.

Engine Configuration

After selecting an engine, use the configuration buttons to access detailed settings:

Vosk Settings

Click the "Vosk Settings" button to: - View available models (Small and Lgraph) - Select which Vosk model to use for dictation - Download the Lgraph model if desired - Configure partial text display options

Faster Whisper Settings

Click the "Faster Whisper Settings" button to: - Browse available models (Tiny, Base, Small, Medium, Large) - Download models - at least one must be installed before use - Select which model to use for dictation - Configure GPU usage settings - Adjust auto sentence formatting options

Use the "← Back" button to return to the previous settings menu.
